Useful!
Yes, another link to free stuff that games makers might find vaguely useful. I'm currently using Visual Basic 2008: Express Edition to make a little launcher for The Witching Hour. It's a funky piece of kit and you might want to give it a try. It's part of the "Express Editions" from Microsoft, which grant the home user a tonne of development tools based off the sort of stuff the professionals use, absolutely free. Hurrah! Nab 'em here: http://www.microsoft.com/express/product/default.aspx
Interferencehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09029561245037961689noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4455768771846342251.post-54558978419184955012008-05-28T15:20:00.002+01:002008-05-28T15:23:55.619+01:00For those of you who are about to codeI hereby direct potential amateur games makers to the lovely and, above all, free NovaShell engine, a piece of 2D games-making magic that is neither better nor worse than VERGE, it's simply.. different. Give it a look. I hope to DO something with it one day.Interferencehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09029561245037961689noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4455768771846342251.post-49919724397084383592008-04-27T19:39:00.002+01:002008-04-27T19:42:42.271+01:00TweakingRight. Got the blog looking the way I want: right typeface, nice colours, sundry bits and bobs on the side bar. And all in a few hours, no less. I've even put in a slide show and dumped the odd screenshot and some assorted art into it.

Feel the love.Interferencehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09029561245037961689noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4455768771846342251.post-39337598962387646752008-04-27T17:52:00.005+01:002008-04-27T19:23:14.022+01:00The reason you're here
Here's the verge-rpg.com post that started this. You're reading this because the inimitable McGrue accused me of being lame (hah!) if I didn't pull my proverbial finger out and join The Gruedorf Challenge, a means by which I will be regularly harassed to do some work on our lovely VERGE game.

So, will I be joining the challenge? Well, no. Development isn't going fast enough to keep up with Gruedorf's cracking pace. However, the prospect of some sort of public presence for the odd project or two is a promising prospect.

To that end, I start here with a development blog, keeping whoever's listening up to date on what exactly it is my erstwhile collaborator and I are actually doing with our spare time. Right now, we're working mainly on an action RPG (ok, well, that and playing Invasion in UT2004). It's called The Witching Hour, it features witches. And guns.

So, here we go.Interferencehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09029561245037961689noreply@blogger.com0
